HPE Member
We have been a member of the Bundesverband Holzpackmittel, Paletten, Exportverpackung e.V. (HPE) for many years. The association sets standards for the construction and use of packaging materials.

Based in Sehnde near Hanover in Lower Saxony, all major North Range ports can be reached quickly and easily. And our proximity to the Hanover Aircargo Centre makes us an attractive partner for fast and cost-sensitive order processing.

We collect, coordinate, pack and dispatch systems for your large-scale projects. We take on the role of system partner for shipping. You can instruct your suppliers to have the ordered components delivered directly to us on your behalf. Thanks to our large indoor and outdoor areas, we can also collect and pack components for very large projects and dispatch them from a single source in one or more batches.

Our
History
The Scharnhorst crate factory was founded in Anderten near Hanover in 1858. The change of name to “Andertener Kistenfabrik” in 1897 lasted until the Second World War. Seven employees produced wooden crates exclusively by hand using saws, hammers and nails. After a brief period of closure in the aftermath of the war, the third generation of the Scharnhorst family gradually rebuilt the business.
Dipl. Ing. Gerhard Scharnhorst took over the company in 1973. Four years later, the company and its 15 employees relocated and a new company name was adopted: “Holzverpackung Hannover GmbH” was born. In 1982, the premises in Anderten became too small. We found attractive premises in Sehnde and founded “Exportverpackung Sehnde GmbH” as a sister company. We have been active at these two locations ever since.
A special highlight came in 1989: the first production and subsequent dispatch of a 25 metre long crate took place here. Six years later, a new record: packing and despatch of an 80 tonne package. Both are still eye-catchers, but certainly no longer exotic in the EVS product range. Since 2006, EVS has also been certified according to the ISO standard, now DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2015.
In 2008, the company passed into the 5th generation when Björn and Thorben Scharnhorst joined the company. Four years later, the German Federal Aviation Authority (LBA) certified EVS as a regulated agent and thus as part of the secure supply chain. We continue to offer not only the handling of secure air freight by storing it in secure warehouses and ensuring that it is handled correctly by the forwarding agent at the point of departure, but also supplement our range of services with our own inspections of the goods using explosives trace detection equipment.
In 2014, we founded our sister company Export Pack Polska (EPP) with Lukasz Pietrzyk as Managing Director. Another milestone with a view to the future of the EVS Group. In 2019, EPP was so well established that it was possible to relocate within Zabrze to larger halls to better fulfil customer requirements.
With the development of the additional business area of contract logistics, hall capacities in Sehnde and Anderten were gradually remodelled in recent years for existing and future customer commitments.
We are driven by commitment, ambition and a clear commitment to customer satisfaction. These values are accompanied by awards, such as the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” award or the “Top Innovator 2021” seal.
We will continue on this path in order to continue the EVS Group’s history into the future.

Sehnde
As our company name Exportverpackung Sehnde GmbH suggests, Sehnde is our home. In addition to customer service and management, the site also houses storage and production areas. Our headquarters in Sehnde offers us many strategic advantages, including large areas, easy access to motorways and direct proximity to Langenhagen Airport.
Anderten
Our aim is to provide the best possible service for our customers. This led to the construction of a new modern hall and the expansion of our office building at the Anderten site in 2016. The new hall is designed for moving heavy loads, has been trimmed for energy efficiency and offers modular and flexible workstations. This means we are very well equipped to handle complex projects for our customers, both as a service provider for export packaging and as a comprehensive logistics service provider.
Zabrze
We attach great importance to producing our own packaging materials in order to be able to guarantee our high quality standards. We have set up a plant in Poland specifically for this purpose in order to relieve our production in Sehnde and supply our sites with packaging materials. The Polish company is also independent and provides the Polish market with the same high-quality service as we already do in Germany.
Growth and progress: The successful company EVS has become a high-performance group of companies. Targeted acquisitions and co-operations have created a group that combines expertise and sets new standards in quality, efficiency and customer proximity.
